Kamaaina Careers
Kamaaina Careers was founded in 1998 by Jon Sakurai-Horita, Founder and President, who grew up in Hilo and graduated from Hilo High School. He has over 20 years of experience assisting employers with their employment needs. He directed the Career Centers at Santa Clara University and the University of San Francisco and has contracted with a number of organizations on the mainland. The main objectives of Kamaaina Careers are to assist Hawaii’s companies in hiring Hawaii students from mainland colleges and universities and former residents of Hawaii and to assist students and former residents working on the mainland to return to Hawaii to fulfill their career objectives after academic training on the mainland.

Tech Jobs Hawaii is a free service to both jobseekers and employers interested in finding or filling technology positions located in Hawaii. Tech Jobs Hawaii is a website of the State of Hawaii’s High Technology Development Corporation, which was developed as a public-private partnership with the input of Hawaii-based technology companies. The site’s mission is to be a vehicle for Hawaii companies that wish to fill their technology positions by targeting kamaaina (Hawaii residents) and former Hawaii residents, whether they live on the mainland or abroad.
